Garner State Park 2009

Every summer for the last 14 years my family has gone to Garner State Park during the summer for 4-7days. This park is 90 miles west of San Antonio deep in the beautiful hill country
We put up tents and cook over a camp stove or a fire. We sleep ontop of sleeping bags, some of us on blow-up mattresses others on the ground.

Every evening we fix up our hair and put on our best shorts to go to the open air pavilion to go dancing to mostly country songs

Garner Is the Best

During the day at Garner we spend as much time as we can down by the Frio River. It is called that because it is a cold spring fed river which feels great in the hot sun
This is a great opportunity to spend some time with our grandkids

It is also a great opportunity for socializing. This is Candyce at the family dance. She is a very good two -stepper

Chloe and I are also taking a turn around the dance floor

These two are showing us all how it is done

I Can't Believe I'm At Garner

What can be more fun than spending the day floating in an innertube down the Frio
We all look forward to this time that is so fun an relaxing

Landon is chill'in on Chad

Jenny 's family introduced us to Garner 14 years ago and here she is back with us

It is so fun to have the cousins together

We Love Garner

After the dance is over at 11:00 we like to come back and roast marshmellows ,play cards, and talk
About 8 years ago my kids gave me a hammock for my birthday and it has come to Garner with us ever since

Landon loves to camp

It is our tradition to always take our picture by the Garner sign before we leave
This is Kelly and Candyce. Ryan,Kelly's husband had to work this year so we have high hopes he will come next year. Kelly and Candyce are so much fun it would'nt be Garner without them

This is a picture of Chad and Jenny before they became Mr and Mrs
I was so happy they could come ,they added a lot to the campout. I hope they will always come.

Family Camping at Garner

This is David and I at Garner. He has come to Garner every summer I have known him. He came the summer before we were to be married .I knew he was a keeper when he really loved Garner. He is a great camper an even better floater. He and I love to spend hours floating down the Frio.
Here is a great picture of most of us at Garner.I'M so glad Jen and the boys could come. They haven't been able to come for a few years due to babies being born or sick. The boys had a blast and Jen really loves the out of doors

Here i am with two of my sweet boys whom I love with all my heart and I am so happy they were at Garner

Gabe got to come to Garner this year, and that made all of us ,especially Jen ,very happy. The boys were wore out by the time we took this picture ,as you can see. Gabe has been camping with us for a long time ,even before he and Jen were married. He always has such a good attitude and is so helpful. I remember one time when it was raining the whole time we were packing up to leave ,he was telling jokes and working harder than anyone to get stuff done. I have always remembered his example.

Well, as we always sing at the dances "I'll be back again next year"
